DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A woman found dead following a fire at the Waverly Place Apartments died as a result of carbon-monoxide poisoning and smoke inhalation, according to the Dorchester County Coroner's Office.

Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet identified the victim as 29-year-old Rachel Nicole LeCroy.  According to her Facebook page, she graduated from R.B. Stall High School in 2001 and worked as  MACRO Agent for the InterContinental Hotels Group.

Deputies said LeCroy's body was found in apartment H-1 at 300 Waverly Place Lane, off Dorchester Road, a little before 10:30 p.m. Monday.

Investigators say they have not determined the cause or the origin of the fire, but have determined LeCroy was home alone at the time of the fire.

SLED agents were seen leaving the scene with bags of evidence around 7:30 a.m.

Deputy Chief Sam Richardson, sheriff's office spokesman, said he would be releasing the incident report on the fire later Tuesday.

The investigation is ongoing.
