Police arrest teen suspected of home burglaries on James Island

JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department has arrested a teenager accused of three house burglaries on James Island.

Officers arrested 19-year-old Robert Joseph Elam and charged him with three counts of second-degree burglary.

Elam is accused of two burglaries on Day Lily Lane and one on Ocean Neighbors Boulevard.

Police say someone entered the homes and stole jewelry, silverware and prescription medication along with silver and gold coins.

A police report states that all of the stolen property has been recovered.

Authorities are continuing to investigate.
