Man behind bars after police find drugs at downtown home

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A 29-year-old suspected drug dealer is behind bars after police searched a home in downtown and found drugs.

The Charleston Police Department charged Demetrius Conyers with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and possession of cocaine base with the intent to distribute.

On Friday, members of the special investigations unit and the Team 1 Community Action Team executed a search warrant at a home on Ducs Court.

Police confiscated 13.5 grams of crack cocaine and 4.7 grams of cocaine.

Authorities are continuing the investigation.
