Charleston man accused of raping 8-year-old girl

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A 37-year-old man is behind bars accused of raping an 8-year-old girl.
The Charleston Police Department arrested Nathaniel Damon Hamilton on Tuesday and charged him with first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
Hamilton's arrest stems from an incident in November of 2011 when police responded to Mitchell Elementary School on 2 Percy St. in reference to a sexual assault that was reported to a guidance counselor.
An affidavit states between January and December 2009, Hamilton raped an 8-year-old girl in a bedroom at a home on N. Romney St.
