CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A man celebrating his wedding anniversary was transported to the hospital with a shattered wrist after a cross-dressing prostitute attacked him, according to a police report.
On Saturday night, a 37-year-old man returned to his home at 11:30 p.m. on Race Street after celebrating his wedding anniversary with his wife.
According to the incident report, the man then saw 30-year-old Jamal Demetrices Seabrook, a cross-dressing prostitute, at the corner of Race and King streets.
The man told investigators that after he saw Seabrook standing at the corner for an extended period of time, he approached Seabrook and told him to leave.
Police say Seabrook turned towards the victim and pushed him to the ground. The victim told police he felt an excruciating pain shoot through his arm at that time.
The victim said as he was on the ground, he saw Seabrook leave the scene. EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to MUSC where doctors told investigators that the victim had suffered a shattered right wrist.
The victim's wife said she did not see the incident.
A police report states firefighters who were responding to an unrelated call, saw Seabrook on the corner of Race and King streets minutes before the incident happened. The responding officer also reported that he had also observed Seabrook at the corner around 11 p.m.
Police arrested Seabrook on Tuesday and charged him with second-degree assault and battery by mob.
