School bus catches fire outside Moncks Corner

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A bus carrying Berkeley High School students was evacuated Monday morning after it caught fire.

According to Susan Haire, spokeswoman for Berkeley County School District, the bus caught fire in the 2000 block of Cooper Store Road around 7:50 a.m.

Haire said students and the driver immediately got off the bus after it caught fire.  No one was injured, according to Haire.

Another bus was sent to the scene to pick up the students and take them to school.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
