Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating after two suspects reportedly robbed a McDonald's at gunpoint early Sunday morning, and forced the employees into a walk-in freezer before fleeing the scene.
Deputies say the armed robbery occurred just after 1:30 a.m. at McDonald's located at 177 Sea Island Parkway.
An employee told police two masked men approached another employee at the back door of the business and forced the worker inside.
Once inside, deputies say one suspect gathered all the employees and took their cell phones while the other suspect direct the manager to the safe and registers.
With money in hand, the suspects shut the employees in a walk-in freezer, fired a gun shot and fled the scene, employees say.
No injuries were reported during the robbery.
The suspects are described as two black males between 17-25 years old. Both are approximately 6 feet tall and 175 pounds. One suspect was wearing a dark shirt, camo pants and a red baseball cap. The other was wearing a dark shirt and pants, and a baseball cap with lime green on it.
