BEAUFORT, SC (WCSC) - The College of Charleston student murdered earlier this month during a Craigslist sale was laid to rest Saturday.
Friends and family hugged and comforted each other on the steps of the Baptist Church of Beaufort Saturday morning as William "Alex" Apps' remains were carried into the church. According to the funeral directors, between four and five hundred people attended the memorial service, which was followed by a graveside service in Lexsy, Georgia.
Authorities say the 25-year-old Beaufort-native was shot and killed October 3rd by two men who responded to Apps' Craigslist ad to sell his truck. His body was later found in Mt. Pleasant.
Nineteen-year-old Jquan Scott and 20-year-old Isaac Williams have been charged with Apps' murder.
