MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office say they are investigating after another body was found in Mount Pleasant Wednesday evening.

At 5:30 p.m., deputies responded to the area of the 2500 block of Rifle Range Road in reference to a body found in the woodline.

Detectives and the Charleston County Coroner's Office are working to determine the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the death.

The sheriff's office says there is no indication that the incident is connected to the body found in the waterway in Mount Pleasant earlier on Wednesday.

In that case, police were called out to the Pitt Street Bridge after a fisherman reported a body floating in the water. That body has not been identified.
