NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the North Charleston Police Department say two schools were placed on lockdown following an incident in the area involving a stabbing.
Authorities say Academic Magnet High School and Charleston School of the Arts were placed on administrative lockdown after officers responded to Lackawanna Street at 1 p.m. in reference to someone being assaulted with a knife.
Police say the victim and suspect, 22-year-old Keeshia Brown, were eventually located inside a home.
According to investigators, Brown and the victim had been involved in a verbal dispute resulting in the victim being stabbed by a kitchen knife.
The victim was transported to the hospital for injuries, while Brown was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.
NCPD says the schools that were placed on lockdown were not part of the incident.
