CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston investigators say a 34-year-old woman wanted for a downtown stabbing has been arrested.

The Charleston Police Department charged Loretta D. White on Monday with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.

Authorities say White's arrest stems from a Nov. 13 at an apartment on King Street where officers found a 38-year-old man with an injury to his hand.

The victim said it all started when White, the mother of his children, began a verbal argument with him, and threw grocery items at the wall.

According to the victim, when he gave White $5 to take a bus and leave, White took a kitchen pot and struck the victim across the face.

Police say when the victim took the pot away from White, the suspect ran to the bedroom and grabbed a knife from under the bed.

A police report states as the victim was attempting to shut the apartment door to keep White out, White stuck the knife inside the home and stabbed the victim's hand.
