UK: Royal Navy celebrates Christmas in Antarctica

ANTARCTICA (UK MINISTRY OF DEFENCE/CNN) - Members of the British Royal Navy decided to celebrate Christmas early in the Antarctic.

The crew of the HMS Protector took a break from surveying and patrolling to enjoy the season, which is summer in Antarctica.

Crew members sat down to a turkey dinner, with a banquet table set up in the snow.

They also got together for a friendly game of soccer (football), playing as the sun set.
