CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County Sheriff officials say they will be providing shelter for anyone who does not have a place to go to protect themselves from the cold weather.

"Due to expected extreme cold temperatures and harsh weather conditions tonight, the Sheriff Cannon Detention Center will be supporting the Low Country Homeless Center by offering shelter to the homeless at its work camp located on Leeds Avenue in North Charleston," a press release stated by the sheriff's office.

Authorities say anyone seeking assistance can call the sheriff's office at (843) 202-1700.
