SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Summerville Police Department say they have arrested a 13 and a 16 year old boy for an armed robbery at a department store and a larceny at a restaurant.

Police say both of the juveniles were arrested on Tuesday.

According to investigators, on Wednesday night, officers responded to the Kmart on 4570 Ladson Rd. for an armed robbery. The 57-year-old victim said she was approached by two male subjects at the parking lot as she was walking to her car.

Police say one of the suspects pointed a gun towards the victim's feet and told her to give him everything in her pockets. The victim then gave the suspect her keys and her purse.

Investigators say the suspects then ran across from the parking lot to the Movies 8 theater.

Around 9:15 p.m., authorities say a suspect walked into the Subway on Dorchester Road and attempted to purchase a cookie using pennies.

While the employee was counting the change, police say a second suspect walked up to the counter and snagged a $10 in change from the tip jar.

The victim told police the first suspect left the scene in a white pickup truck, while the second suspect left on foot in an unknown area.

Capt. Jon Rogers of the Summerville Police Department says the juveniles were arrested after their agency received tips from Live 5 News viewers who recognized their faces from surveillance photos taken during the theft at the Subway.
