GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office say a missing 16-year-old has been found safe.

GCSO authorities said Thursday afternoon that Nyala Keson Smith was found and is in the company of deputies.

According to the sheriff's office, the incident is an ongoing investigation.

Earlier in the day, officials with the sheriff's office said the 16-year-old may have been abducted from a bus stop near her home.

Authorities say Smith was last seen around 6:30 a.m. at her bus stop on Sutton Road in the Browns Ferry Community.

Witnesses say the missing girl was spotted in what appeared to be an altercation with a man identified as 19-year-old Anthony Marquise Williams of Georgetown, who was also being sought in connection to the incident.
