Emergency crews put out sailboat fire at Charleston City Marina

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Authorities have put out a sailboat fire at the Charleston City Marina.

Officials with the Charleston Fire Department say crews responded at 11:43 a.m. on Wednesday in regards to a boat fire at the marina on Lockwood Drive.

When units arrived on scene they found a fire on a 36-foot sailboat.

Crews were able to take out the fire using the marina's portable pumps. The fire was brought under control at 11:55 a.m.

CFD states that there were no hazards or chemicals that entered the water, and the boat did not sink.

The City of Charleston Fire Marshal Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
