GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Georgetown County deputies are investigating after a group of suspects beat, threw rocks and shot BB's at several victims who were at birthday party Saturday night.

Deputies responded to reports of shots fired on Choppee Road around 10:45 p.m.

Reports state deputies with the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office arrived at the Choppee Health Complex to find about 75 individuals celebrating a juvenile's birthday.

According to an incident report, three of the victims, two of which have been identified as 14-year-olds, were advised that a group of people from Carvers Bay High School were talking about jumping them. As the victims were getting ready to leave the party, the suspects arrived and attacked the victims.

Deputies say the suspects punched, kicked, threw rocks, and shot BB's at the victims as they tried to run away towards a person who was picking them up.

Officials say one of the victims was shot in the face and back with a BB gun, and multiple windows from the car of one of the victims were shattered by gunfire.

A CO2 powered BB gun was found outside the gym, a report states.

Multiple suspects have been identified, according to deputies.
