CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Traffic is once again moving smoothly on the Don Holt Bridge after an earlier accident involving an overturned camper caused major traffic delays Thursday morning.

Two right westbound lanes were closed after a camper flipped and landed upside down between the Don Holt Bridge and the Clements Ferry Road exits around 8:10 a.m. SCDOT cameras show vehicles now traveling in all westbound lanes.

According to Charleston Police spokesperson Charles Francis, the driver was towing a camper trailer when the wind from an 18-wheeler passing caused the camper to swerve. The camper began to wiggle and eventually became dislodged from the truck.

The camper struck the victim's car, causing the truck to turn 180 degrees and the camper then flipped over, Francis said.

showed the camper flipped upside down, stretching across the right shoulder and into the center lane.

The overturned camper had westbound traffic on I-526 backed up past Daniel Island for over two hours. Eastbound traffic was also moving slow, likely from motorists catching a glimpse of the accident.

No one was hurt in the accident.
