MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Mt. Pleasant police are investigating a case of animal cruelty after a woman's cat was shot with a BB gun.
According to an incident report, the owner, who is a veterinarian, noticed her cat was not feeling well on March 23 and took it took it to her office for an X-ray. The X-ray showed a BB pellet lodged in the cat's abdomen.
The report states the veterinarian believes the cat was shot on March 22 while in her neighborhood, The Groves Manor.
The pellet was removed, and turned over to police.
