JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Two people were arrested following reports of shots fired on James Island.

An incident report from the Charleston County Sheriff's Office states 21 year-old Tyler Austin Miller of Lexington, and 22 year-old Devin Storm McLemore of Charleston, had active warrants and were taken into custody.

The sheriff's office received reports of gunshots just after 2 a.m. Wednesday on the 1300 block of Fort Johnson Road near Secessionville Road, according to Major Eric Watson. The report states multiple City of Charleston Police units witnessed multiple shots being fired outside the residence.

Deputies made contact with people inside the home, and say Miller exited the home at 2:38 a.m., and McLemore exited ten minutes later.

According to the sheriff's department booking report, Miller and McLemore have an active warrant for second degree assault and battery by mob. Miller also has a warrant for third degree assault and battery, the report states.

Deputies say they saw someone closing the blinds after the two men walked outside. City SWAT officers made contact with three additional people inside the home, according to the incident report. The last of the five left the home at 6:32 a.m., the report states.

Watson said the SWAT team then went in to clear the home as a precaution.

The area was blocked off by police for hours Wednesday morning. Traffic was allowed to resume in the area at around 8:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
