NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - A 26-year-old man charged with the fatal shooting of another man earlier this month was denied bail in court Tuesday morning.

The North Charleston Police Department says Bobby William Johnson, Jr. of North Charleston turned himself in late Monday evening -- six days after he allegedly shot a man to death.

Johnson was denied bond on a charge of murder, and received a $50,000 bail on a weapons charge. He will remain in jail.

Police say 22-year-old Daniel Patterson was found with a gunshot wound to the stomach on a driveway in the 2000-block of Woodlawn Ave. on April 1st.  Patterson, who was having difficulty breathing, was transported to MUSC where he later died.

According to an incident report, Johnson shot Patterson after the two were involved in a confrontation.

Johnson is being held at the Charleston County Detention Center.
