Gerald's Tires and Brakes in North Charleston is open Thursday, hours after a car slammed into the front of the business, knocking a column sideways.
Officials say a car ran into the auto service store on the 4900 block of Rivers Avenue around 6:23 a.m. North Charleston police and firefighters responded to the incident.
Authorities say the North Charleston Building Department was called in to assess the damage to the building. It was determined the damaged wall was not a load-bearing wall.
Officials say no injuries have been reported.
According to an employee at Gerald's, the Rivers Avenue location will open at 9 a.m. after a building inspector evaluates the structure.
