Deputies searching for suspect in Mt. Pleasant armed robbery

Charleston County investigators are on the lookout for a suspect who robbed a Mount Pleasant store Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities say around 12:03 p.m., deputies responded to the IyeTifany Eyewear Store on 1031 Highway 41 for a report of an armed robbery.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office says a man riding a bicycle entered the store. According to investigators, the man was armed with a gun and demanded money from store personnel.

After taking the cash drawer, investigators say the suspect ran from the scene and left his bicycle behind. There were no injuries reported.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office dispatched its K-9 and Air Support units in an attempt to located the suspect, but was unsuccessful.
