COLUMBIA, SC (WCSC) - Gov. Nikki Haley met with leaders of state agencies in Columbia on Monday for the upcoming 2014 hurricane season.
Monday's meeting was billed as a hurricane tabletop exercise, a chance to look at needs and make a plan to make sure those needs are addressed.
Everything from emergency response to shelters and evacuation routes were discussed.
"We continue looking at shelters, making sure we have enough shelters," Haley said."We focused in on special needs shelters and how we can co-mingle those with the general shelters."
Hurricane season begins June 1.
