Investigators identify suspect arrested in downtown homicide

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Investigators with the Charleston Police Department have identified a 21-year-old man who was arrested for a fatal shooting in downtown Charleston.
Officers have charged Brandon Rashad Marshall of North Charleston with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. Marshall was locked up at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
According to police, the incident happened around 2:45 a.m. on Wilson Street when the victim and the suspect got into an argument which led to the victim being shot.
The coroner's office identified the victim as 23-year-old Anthony Williams of Charleston who died from gunshot wounds.
A CPD report states the suspect was taken into custody while trying to leave the scene.
Police are continuing the investigation.
