JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC)
James Island motorists will need to watch for law enforcement officers and the possibility of stopped traffic for several early-morning hours over the Memorial Day weekend.
That's the word from the Charleston County Sheriff's Office, which announced plans for a traffic safety checkpoint beginning around midnight Sunday near the intersection of Folly Road and Needlegrass Lane.
Sheriff's office spokesman Maj. Eric Watson says it will be a joint effort between the Charleston County Sheriff's Traffic Division and H.E.A.T., the Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic.
