NWS investigates possible water spout on Kiawah Island
The National Weather Service is examining footage shot at Kiawah Island to determine whether a mini-water spout formed Saturday.

The National Weather Service is trying to determine whether it was a water spout that moved on shore or a small tornado that formed on land. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, water spouts are not always associated with severe storm systems.
