Coroner: Falling equipment resulted in Nucor Steel worker's death

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Berkeley County Coroner's Office has identified the Nucor Steel Company worker who died following an accident at their Huger plant Thursday.

According to Bill Salisbury, 44-year-old Cisco Agbunag, of Goose Creek, died after a large piece of equipment fell on him at Nucor Steel Company on Old Hagan Avenue Thursday morning.

Salisbury says the victim was taken to a local hospital where he later died. The exact cause of death will be released pending an autopsy.

The incident is being investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner's Office and Sheriff's Office.

Officials with the Occupation Safety and Health Administration say they are aware of the accident and are looking into the nature of the incident pending further investigation.
