Former state attorney general Henry McMaster won the Republican nomination for SC lieutenant governor Tuesday night.
McMaster faced off against third place challenger Mike Campbell in the runoff. Early returns Tuesday showed McMaster trouncing Mike Campbell by a two-to-1 margin. McMaster will face Democrat Bakari Sellers in November.
Tom Thompson also won the Democratic nomination nominee for South Carolina education superintendent. Molly Spearman won the Republican nomination for South Carolina education superintendent over Sally Atwater.
And in Berkeley County, Bill Peagler won the Berkeley County Supervisor race beating incumbent Dan Davis.
Also on Tuesday, Jack Schurlkinght won a seat for Berkeley County Council District 6 beating out James Law.
About 16 percent of registered voters in the state cast ballots in the June 10 Primary, and on Tuesday even fewer voters were expected.
