The Charleston County Coroner's Office has identified a 22-year-old man who was killed in a shooting this past weekend.

Authorities say Miquel Garnell Shine II died from a gunshot wound.

At 6:41 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to the area of Rivers Avenue and Alston Street for a shooting.

When police arrived they found the victim laying on his stomach. A man, the victim's cousin, was on the scene and told police that the victim was his cousin.

Investigators found a spent shell casing near the victim, and located four other casings at a nearby open lot.

Witnesses told police an argument between the victim and another person took place, and later a vehicle pulled up to the area.

According to witnesses, shots were then fired striking the victim.

The incident remains under investigation.
