Charleston police searching for suspect in West Ashley bank robbery

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department is on the lookout for a man who robbed a West Ashley bank Friday afternoon.

According to police, the incident happened at the NBSC bank on 1870 Sam Rittenberg at 2:09 p.m.

Investigators say the suspect was armed with a gun.

Police describe the suspect as a white heavy set male, wearing a fake beard, sunglasses and hat.

CPD officials say the suspect possibly fled in an older model dark green sedan with out of state plates.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.

Police say there were no injuries in the incident.
