Visitation, funeral set for CSU student killed in weekend crash

COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A Charleston Southern University sophomore died in a crash in Colleton County on Saturday, the coroner confirmed.

Kermit Hudson, 20, from Walterboro died in a crash on Featherbed Road at approximately 7:55 a.m. on Saturday.

The coroner says Hudson's vehicle was headed north towards Highway 17A, ran off the right side and overcorrected, but hit a ditch and overturned, catching fire.

According to the CSU website, Hudson was a choral music education major and was a member of the Concert Singers and Singing Buccaneers. Before attending CSU, he served as assistant to the choral director for Colleton County High school, CSU's site states.

A visitation will be held at Parker Rhoden Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Hudson's funeral will be held at the First Baptist Church in Walterboro Wednesday at 11 a.m.
