ECCO holds first ever job fair
MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Tuesday, East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) held its first ever job fair at Trident Technical College.
More than half a dozen employers were at the event and are part of the ECCO Works program.
The free program will helps get people ready for a new job by helping create resumes and doing practice interviews. It then helps place people in jobs that last at least a year.
"It's not just a quick fix, get a job and then move onto the next job but finding a job for financial stability for the future of your families to move them forward," Djuanna Brockington, the Director of Empowerment for ECCO said. "For some folks who are situational or generational poverty, just get their gears going again."
ECCO hasn't set a date yet for future job fair but they have already been asked to hold one in January and hope to have at least one per year in the future.
