A Mt. Pleasant couple is accused of stealing $300,000 worth of silverware and a $50,000 Rolex watch from a home.

Richard Carol Stokes III, 48, and 46-year-old Lisa Sturkie were charged with two counts of second-degree burglary.

Both were arrested on Thursday and each given a $50,000 bond.

On Wednesday, a woman told police that she believed a theft occurred at a home on Mariner Place Drive.

A home health care nurse said she noticed that a silverware drawer where three sets of utensils were kept was empty.

According to the victim's son, the sets included goblets and platters that his late mother had collected.

Investigators say family members had installed surveillance cameras which showed two people loading silver from the shelves and drawers into duffle bags.

A report states the two caught on tape were identified as Stokes and his girlfriend, Lisa Sturkie.
