NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - Thieves took a $40,000 tractor from a North Charleston business Thursday night and the crime was caught on surveillance cameras.
Footage shows the crime at around 9 p.m. at Cross County General Rentals on Cross County Road.
Owner Brandon Askins says the suspect started up the tractor and drove it to his truck and trailer which was parked in the driveway of a nearby business.
Aggravated, just aggravated, but not surprised," Askins said. "I would imagine they are selling it, scrapping it."
Askins says this was the third time in the last four months his business has been burglarized.
He says it is taking a financial toll.
"If something is stolen from us, it comes straight out of my family's pocket."
The stolen tractor is a yellow Case 420 CT. It has tracks instead of tires on it.
Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111.
Askins also is offering his own $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
North Charleston Police say the theft is the tenth crime reported in the Pepperdam Industrial Park this year.
