COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Colleton County authorities say an early Tuesday morning fire damaged two homes and destroyed a workshop and a truck.

Around 1:45 a.m., emergency officials received reports of a fire at a workshop on 160 Boone Street in the Country Estates subdivision.

When first responders arrived on Boone Street they found a workshop and the nearby home on fire. Authorities say the fire had also spread to a house on Capers Street.

A report states that the home on Boone Street suffered heat damage to the rear of the house with several items in the backyard destroyed. A pickup truck parked next to the workshop was also heavily damaged.

Fire officials say the Capers Street home lost most of its roof and suffered heavy damage from fire and water.

Emergency crews were on the scene for more than five hours.

Officials with CCFR say the fire appeared to have started in or near an electrical panel at the work shop, and did not appear to be suspicious in nature.

No injuries were reported.
