DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A resident is being credited with helping Dorchester County Sheriff ‘s deputies nab four teens who are charged with several car break ins.

The break-ins happened Thursday in the Archdale Landing subdivision.

Deputies say the resident hear a noise early Thursday morning, went outside and saw one of the suspects by his car. He recognized the suspect and saw a second one run away.

The resident told deputies where the suspect lived.

Deputies went to that address and arrested 17-year-old McClain Thomas, 17-year-old Jaxon Anderson, 17-year-old Heather Russell and a fourth teen whose records were later expunged.

Investigators say they also found some marijuana plants in Thomas' house.

Deputies say 13 cars were broken into. So far, Thomas and Anderson are charged with four car break-ins.

Cecil Stevens says a DVD player, GPS and radar detector were taken from his wife's car.

“It’s not just you don’t know your neighbor. We know our neighbors, or at least we thought we knew our neighbors.” Stevens said. “It’s a very uneasy feeling right now. Who do you trust and who you don’t trust.”

Thomas and Russell also are charged with manufacturing marijuana.

Investigators say they recovered some of the stolen items from Thomas’ house.
