CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston fire crews responded to a partial wall and roof collapse at a structure on Washington Street on Tuesday afternoon, according to CFD spokesman Ryan Kunitzer.

The building is slated for demolition.

Units responded to secure the area until the property's owners arrive. No injuries were reported in the collapse, Kunitzer said.

Charleston Police closed Washington Street from Charlotte Street to East Bay Street as a precautionary measure after the collapse.

East Bay Street has since reopened, Kunitzer said.
