NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - North Charleston firefighters say they were able to quickly contain a fire at a town house Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities responded at 2:35 p.m. to a town home in the 8700-block of Plantation Court, according to NCFD spokesperson Bianca Bourbeau.
The first firefighters on the scene reported a light haze of smoke visible from the back of the town home when they arrived on the scene, Bourbeau said. Residents of the home were able to escape and there were no reports of injuries.
The fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the kitchen, Bourbeau said.
The specific cause of the fire is under investigation.
A portion of Otranto Road, between Jenny Lind and Fairwind Drive, was shut down while firefighters battled the scene.
