MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) - A 15-year-old student is in serious condition and a second 15-year-old is facing charges after an assault at Berkeley High School on Monday, according to Moncks Corner Police.

The school's resource officer and Moncks Corner police responded to a report of an assault and found the student unresponsive and suffering from head injuries, authorities say.

The victim's mother says her son has a fractured skull and bleeding in the brain. He is being treated at MUSC.

Police are requesting anyone with direct knowledge of the incident to contact Moncks Corner Police or Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111.
