The Patriots (7-1, 1-0 in Region 8-AAAA) end their 15-game losing streak to their biggest rival. Datron James ran for two touchdowns, including the eventual game-winner in late in the fourth quarter. David Coccoli ran for two touchdowns for the Green Wave (4-4, 0-1); he played quarterback for the injured Sawyer Bridges. This is the first time since 2001 Fort Dorchester has beaten Summerville, and its the first time the Patriots have knocked off the Green Wave with Steve LaPrad as the head coach (he used to be an assistant at Summerville under John McKissick).
Goose Creek 32, James Island 13 -
Tyrik Johnson ran for 276 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries as the Gators (6-1, 1-0 in Region 7-AAAA) won their their sixth game in a row. Dominique Jefferson was 7-13 passing for 158 yards and two touchdowns in the win. James Island (5-2, 0-1) actually led 7-6 at the half.
Stratford 33, Cane Bay 7 -
The Knights (5-2, 1-0 in Region 7-AAAA) jumped out to 17-0 lead to drop the Cobras (3-4, 0-1). Tyler Tekac, who was named to the Shrine Bowl this week, booted four field goals in the win. Stratford's defense forced four turnovers, and held Cane Bay to just 177 yards of total offense. Jamison Mobbs had a big game at quarterback for the Knights; he was 14-23 passing for 212 yards and a touchdown; K.J. Givens had 124 yards receiving and a TD.
West Ashley 9, Wando 0 -
The Wildcats (3-4, 1-0 in Region 7-AAAA) pitched a shutout at home. Anthony Vincelli caught an 11-yard pass from Justin Berry for the game's only touchdown. The Warriors fall to 4-3, 0-1.
Ashley Ridge 44, Colleton County 20 -
The Swamp Foxes (5-3, 1-0 in Region 8-AAAA) ended a three-game slide with an offensive explosion in Walterboro, The Cougars drop to 4-4, 0-1.
Hanahan 38, Orangeburg-Wilkinson 13
The Hawks (4-3, 2-0 in Region 8-AAA) opened league play with a convincing win on the road against the previously-undefeated Bruins.
