GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - A 6-year-old boy was flown to the hospital after being ejected from a van in Goose Creek Tuesday evening.

Officials with the South Carolina Highway Patrol say the accident happened in the area of Charles B. Gibson Avenue and Howe Hall Road around 5:48 p.m.

According to SCHP officials, a car was traveling on Charles B. Gibson Avenue and was turning onto Howe Hall Road. Troopers say a van on Howe Hall Road failed to yield the right of way and was struck by the car.

A 6-year-old boy in the van was ejected, and airlifted to the Medical University of South Carolina for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the van was also transported to the hospital for possible injuries, while another juvenile in the vehicle sustained no injuries.

SCHP officials say the driver and passenger of the car sustained minor injuries.
