Deputies release surveillance stills in Johns Island armed robbery

JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County Deputies are searching for a man depicted in surveillance stills in connection with an armed robbery at the Walgreens on Savannah Highway and Main Road on Johns Island.
Deputies say the suspect walked into the store at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Sunday and asked the cashier for two boxes of cigarettes. Witnesses say the man then began to complain of the price of the cigarettes and when he reached into his pocket, the cashier could see the outline of a gun. The suspect then demanded money from the cash register.
The suspect fled on foot with $140 in cash and two boxes of cigarettes.
Officials say the suspect is about six feet tall and 50-60 years of age. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black ball cap at the time of the incident.
