GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - The driver of a school bus was able to escape without injury when the bus caught fire in Goose Creek Wednesday afternoon.
The bus caught fire near the intersection of Red Bank Road and Howe Hall Road, according to Berkeley County School District spokesman Chip Sturgis. No children were on the bus a the time, Sturgis said.
The bus was on its way back to the bus yard when the fire began shortly after 3 p.m., according to the Goose Creek Fire Department.
The fire likely started in the bus's motor, but no exact cause has been determined, fire officials say.
