CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The daughter of a man injured while hunting in Adams Run Thursday night says her father is being treated for a broken back.
The man was air-lifted to the hospital, after another hunter called 911 around 7 p.m. to report the man's fall, according to Asst. Chief Trae Wright with Charleston County Rescue.
The victim's daughter said his deer stand collapsed causing him to be injured.
Charleston County Rescue, Charleston County EMS, and St. Paul's Fire Department responded to the scene near the 8800 block of Old Jacksonboro Road.
Wright says all terrain vehicles had to be used to go into the woods to find the victim. Once the victim was stabilized, Wright says he was transported out of the woods, onto an ambulance, and into a helicopter, which transported him to MUSC.
The victim's daughter said despite the injury, her father is not paralyzed and is still being evaluated.
