CCSO searching for men in forgery, counterfeit check incident

Charleston County deputies released surveillance photos of two men they say purchased electronics with a counterfeit check at an electronics store.

According to the incident report, the two bought $916.77 of electronics at the Rivers Avenue Best Buy on Sept. 22.

A store employee told deputies one of the men said he had received a tuition refund and wanted to buy supplies for the next semester and produced a Georgia driver's license when writing the check.

The store was later notified the check was counterfeit, the report states.

Anyone with information on the identity of those pictured should call the Charleston County Criminal Investigations Division at (843) 554-2475 and ask for Detective Turner or Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111.
