Lincoln Completes Win Over Burke

Garrett 20  North Charleston 0 -

The Falcons get a shutout just three days after their loss to Whale Branch. The win moves Garrett to 6-4, 2-3 in Region 6-AA and earns them a playoff spot. The Cougars fall to 2-8, 0-5.

Baptist Hill 48  Military Magnet 14 -

The Bobcats avoid a winless season with the victory moving to 1-9, 1-4 in Region 6-A. The Eagles drop to 4-6, 2-3.



Berkeley 24, Hanahan 17 (Live 5 Game of the Week) -

The Stags (6-4, 5-0) clinched the Region 8-AAA title by edging their county rivals; the Hawks end the regular season at 6-4, 4-1. Berkeley head coach Jeff Cruce won a lot of region championships when he was the head coach at Hanahan; he led the Stags to their first league title since 2009. This also ends a four-year streak of titles by Hanahan. Joseph Dress threw for a touchdown and ran for two more, including a spectacular, tackle-breaking one late in the fourth quarter to put the Stags ahead for good.

Goose Creek 42, West Ashley 14 -

The Gators (9-1, 4-0 in Region 7-AAAA) won their ninth in a row, and increased their winning streak over the Wildcats (3-7, 1-3) to 10 years. Tyrik Johnson ran for 73 yards and four touchdowns, and Goose Creek quarterback Dominique Jefferson ran for 123 yards and a score, and threw for 103 yards.

Stratford 41, James Island 14 - The Knights (8-2, 4-0 in Region 7-AAAA) scored 14 points in the final 70 seconds of the first half to seal their blowout win of the Trojans (6-4, 1-3). Stratford, which is on a seven-game winning streak, will face cross-town rival Goose Creek for the league title in the Week 11 Live 5 Game of the Week.

Wando 42, Cane Bay 24 - The Warriors (5-5, 1-3 in Region 7-AAAA) picked up their first league win of the season with a road victory over the Cobras (4-6, 1-3).

Summerville 51, Ashley Ridge 23 - The Green Wave (6-4, 2-1 in Region 8-AAAA) stormed back from a 16-0 deficit in the second quarter to beat their rivals in the Flowertown Showdown. The Swamp Foxes are now 6-4, 2-1, and will try to salvage a share of the league title with an upset of Fort Dorchester (9-1, 3-0) next week.

Colleton County 14, Bluffton 12 - The Cougars (5-6, 1-3 in Region 8-AAAA) are going to the playoffs for the first time since 2007 thanks to a road win over the Bobcats.

Hilton Head 63, Stall 0 - The Warriors' (1-9, 0-5 in Region 8-AAA) season is over.

Beaufort 23, Orangeburg-Wilkinson 13 - The Eagles (6-4, 3-2 in Region 8-AAA) lock up third place in the league.

Woodland 41, Wade Hampton 21 - The Wolverines (6-4, 4-1) win the Region 5-AA title and the league's one-seed for the AA Division 2 playoffs,

Timberland 62, Lee Central 0 - The Wolves (10-0, 5-0 in Region 7-AA) complete their first undefeated regular season since 2010.

Bishop England 34, Academic Magnet 14 - The Battling Bishops (4-6, 4-1 in Region 6-AA) clinch a home playoff game in the first round of the AA Division 2 bracket. The Raptors (7-3, 3-2) take third place in the league, and will go on the road to start the postseason.

Whale Branch 44, Battery Creek 7 - The Warriors (6-4, 5-0) take the Region 6-AA crown outright in their first year in the league. The Dolphins end the season at 2-8, 1-4.

St. John's 28, Cross 16 - The Islanders (7-3, 5-0) win their second straight Region 6-A championship with a victory on the road. Taiwan Green and Jordan Hammond had big touchdown runs in the second half to help seal the win. The Trojans fall to 6-4, 4-1.

Lincoln 38, Burke 12- The Yellow Jackets' would close out the win at Wando Stadium on Saturday after their home game was stopped late in the second quarter after fire truck ruined the field; it came on the field after a player was seriously hurt in the contest. 


Northwood Academy 70, First Baptist 0 - The Chargers (10-0, 5-0 in SCISA Region 2-AA) completed their first-ever undefeated regular season. The Hurricanes end the year at 0-10, 0-5.

Porter-Gaud 37, Pinewood Prep 15 - The Cyclones (6-5, 4-4 in SCISA AAA) extend their winning streak over their main league rival to five years. The Panthers end the regular season at 4-7, 2-6.

St. Andrew's 24, Palmetto Christian 13 - The Eagles' (1-9, 1-4 in SCISA Region 2-AA) season ends.

Colleton Prep 28, Thomas Heyward 21 - The War Hawks (6-4, 3-2 in SCISA Region 2-A) clinch a spot in the playoffs.

Curtis Baptist 38, Dorchester Academy 15 - The Raiders finish the regular season at 4-6, 2-3 in SCISA Region 2-A. They will enter the postseason on a two-game slide.

Player of the Week

Taiwan Green, RB, St. John's - Green rushed for 185 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Islanders region title clinching victory. He also passed the 1,000 yard rushing mark for the season.
