JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - A Johns Island church is joining a worldwide effort to provide relief to Ebola stricken countries in West Africa.

Johns Island Church of Christ is partnering with Save More Kids to hold "A Day of Hope for Liberia" donation drive Saturday, November 15 at 11 a.m.

The event aims to raise awareness about the Ebola crisis in West Africa, while gathering supplies that will go towards helping children affected by the deadly virus.

Event organizers say the most needed items include rice, medications, and money, but there is also a need for canned goods, bottled water, and medical supplies like latex gloves, face masks, and sterile gowns.
