Boil water advisory issued near Fort Dorchester Elementary

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - Dorchester County Water & Sewer has issued a boil water advisory notice for some customers in North Charleston due to an emergency water line repair.

The advisory has been issued for Avana at Wescott Plantation apartment complex and Fort Dorchester Elementary School.

Officials say when the water supply is restored, customer are advised to boil their water vigorously for at least one full minute before drinking an cooking. It's also suggested that any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.

Dorchester County Water and Sewer will send out a notification as soon as the water is safe for consumption.
