NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police officials say two people have been transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries following a Tuesday night shooting.

NCPD investigators say shortly before 8 p.m., officers responded to the 3300 block of Osceola Street in reference to two people shot.

Officers located two subjects who said they saw a newer model Nissan, possibly a Sentra, with Tennessee tags pull up. According to the victims, a male then exited the passenger side of the vehicle and began firing at both of the victims.

The victims were transported to MUSC with non life threatening injuries. According to police, one victim was shot in the behind while the other was shot in the back.

North Charleston police officers were spotted in the area investigating a scene which was taped off. Several evidence markers were seen being placed by investigators.

It's the second call on Tuesday that officers have responded to a reported shooting. The first happened Tuesday afternoon in the area of Clarion Hotel on 3640 Dorchester Road about a mile away from Tuesday night's shooting.

Police say one male subject from that incident was transported to the hospital, and one person is being detained in the investigation.
